Mitigating phase noise effect in OFDM system using partial IFFT/FFT and adaptive filtering

چکیده
AbsWuct-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive technique for achieving high-bit-rate wireless communications. The performance of OFDM is severely affected by the nonlinearity of high-power amplifier at the transmitter end and the phase noise of the oscillator. We introduced partial I FFTIFFT and adaptive filtering to reduce the phase noise effect in OFDM. Using a few more oscillators besides significant gain the complexity decreases a bit more.

Phase Noise Influence in Long-range Coherent Optical OFDM Systems with Delay Detection, IFFT Multiplexing and FFT Demodulation
We present a study of the influence of dispersion induced phase noise for CO-OFDM systems using FFT multiplexing/IFFT demultiplexing techniques (software based). The software based system provides a method for a rigorous evaluation of the phase noise variance caused by Common Phase Error (CPE) and Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) including – for the first time to our knowledge – in explicit for...
متن کاملChannel Effect Compensation in OFDM System under Short CP Length Using Adaptive Filter in Wavelet Transform Domain
Channel estimation in communication systems is one of the most important issues that can reduce the error rate of sending and receiving information as much as possible. In this regard, estimation of OFDM-based wireless channels using known sub-carriers as pilot is of particular importance in frequency domain. In this paper, channel estimation under short cyclic prefix (CP) in OFDM system is con...
متن کاملPhase Noise Influence in Coherent Optical OFDM Systems with RF Pilot Tone: Digital IFFT Multiplexing and FFT Demodulation
We present a comparative study of the influence of dispersion induced phase noise for CO-OFDM systems using Tx channel multiplexing and Rx matched filter (analogue hardware based); and FFT multiplexing/IFFT demultiplexing techniques (software based). An RF carrier pilot tone is used to mitigate the phase noise influence. From the analysis, it appears that the phase noise influence for the two O...

This paper presents an empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based adaptive filter (AF) for channel estimation in OFDM system. In this method, length of channel impulse response (CIR) is first approximated using Akaike information criterion (AIC). Then, CIR is estimated using adaptive filter with EMD decomposed IMF of the received OFDM symbol. The correlation and kurtosis measures are used to sel...
متن کاملVLSI Design of a Variable-Length FFT/IFFT Processor for OFDM-Based Communication Systems
The technique of orthogonal frequency divisionmultiplexing (OFDM) is famous for its robustness against frequency-selective fading channel. This technique has been widely used in many wired and wireless communication systems. In general, the fast Fourier transform (FFT) and inverse FFT (IFFT) operations are used as the modulation/demodulation kernel in the OFDM systems, and the sizes of FFT/IFFT...
